Motorist killed in Grand Prairie wreck
A Grand Prairie woman has died from injuries she suffered in a traffic wreck Monday morning at an intersection in south Grand Prairie, police said Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Guadalupe Alvarado, 34. She died Tuesday night at Medical Center of Arlington.
The fatal wreck occurred about 8 a.m. Monday at South Carrier Parkway and Royal Valley Road. Alvarado was driving a 1999 Nissan Altima eastbound on Royal Valley Road and attempted to turn north onto South Carrier Parkway when her vehicle was hit by a southbound 1989 Jeep Cherokee.
Her car was hit on the driver’s side by the Jeep, police said. The 19-year-old driver of the Jeep was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
It was the second traffic fatality in the city this year.
