For the second consecutive year, Texas was ranked the No. 1 Growth State by the U-Haul Growth Index of 2022, meaning the state had the most U-Haul customers in the country during the last two years.
Most out-of-state newcomers came from California and Florida, followed by Louisiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Georgia and Arizona, according to the 2021 Texas Relocation Report from Texas Realtors.
In 2019, Texas welcomed between 537,000 to 582,000 out-of-state residents.
