Tarrant County’s Public Health Department announced Friday it would begin administering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster shots, according to a news release.

The action follows Wednesday’s FDA authorization of both booster shots. Tarrant County had already been giving out Pfizer booster shots, according to the release.

The Moderna and Pfizer booster shots were authorized for those 65 and older, people long-term care facilities, those with underlying medical conditions, and people in high risk settings, according to the release. People who received their Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago are also eligible for a second dose.

The CDC said anyone eligible for a booster shot can get a brand different from the one the received initially.
