Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire Mark Cuban said that $1,000 stimulus checks should be sent to American households every two weeks for the next two months.

During an interview with CNBC, Cuban said that it’s critical to help the “two economies” that exist.

“Those without [help] are struggling badly,” he told CNBC. “We need to get them help.”

The “Shark Tank” investor believes that families who have funds to spend within 10 days can help stimulate local economies.

“Once businesses start having demand, even if they’re closed and working online, then there is a reason for them to be able to bring back employees and retain those employees if demand is sustained,” he said.

Congress is at impasse on a new COVID-19 relief package and it’s not clear when — or if — a new deal might be approved.

The first round of one-time $1,200 stimulus checks — part of the CARES Act —were approved in late March and the first checks were sent out in April.

Cuban first proposed his idea in May and still believes in doing the exact same thing now, he says.
