New coronavirus cases, deaths dropped this week in Tarrant County
Tarrant County reported 275 new coronavirus cases and five deaths on Friday.
The latest COVID-19 deaths include a Bedford man in his 50s, Fort Worth men in their 60s and 70s, a Fort Worth woman in her 70s, and a Benbrook woman in her 70s. All five had underlying health conditions, according to officials.
Tarrant County has reported a total of 39,328 COVID-19 cases, including 483 deaths and an estimated 32,316 recoveries.
Since Monday, the average of daily new cases has dropped considerably from the previous week and much of the month.
The county has reported an average of 313.6 cases the past five days, down from 835.6 in the previous five-day period — which included Saturday and Sunday, in which the bulk of cases were unreported from earlier this summer because of a backlog in the state’s data reporting system.
Deaths have also dropped this week. The county has reported 24 deaths the past five days compared with 32 over the previous five days.
