For 7th consecutive day, Dallas County reports fewer than 1,000 new coronavirus cases
Dallas County public health authorities on Saturday reported 614 new coronavirus cases, ticking the county’s total past 50,000 virus cases.
The Saturday pandemic accounting from the Health and Human Services department was the seventh consecutive day that Dallas County reported fewer than 1,000 new cases.
“For the week, we had an average of 654 new cases per day, down from 827 the week before, and a total of 77 deaths making this the second deadliest week thus far,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins wrote of the coronavirus outbreak in a statement.
In total, there have been 50,590 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Dallas County. Public health authorities said 681 of those people died.
The 10 people whose deaths in Dallas County were reported Saturday were a man in his 20s, a woman in her 30s, a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 50s, two men in their 60s and four people in their 80s, authorities said.
