Texas reports a record high 10,745 new coronavirus cases

Texas reported a record 10,745 new COVID-19 cases and 10,569 hospitalizations on Tuesday.

The state also reported 87 deaths. The state’s previous single-day high of new cases was 10,351, on July 11.

COVID-19 patients occupy about 19% of all beds. About a month ago, there were 2,153 hospitalizations.

Texas has reported more than 275,000 cases and 3,300 deaths. As of Monday, the state’s positive rate was 16.89%.
