The three new deaths are a woman in her 80s from Euless, and a woman in her 60s and a man in his 80s, both from Fort Worth, according to a Tarrant County press release. All had underlying health conditions.

COVID-19 patients were using about 15% of all occupied hospital beds in the county as of Friday, according to county data. About 74% of all hospital beds in the county are now occupied. About a third of all ventilators are in use.

Almost all key COVID-19 statistics in the county are rising.

Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients have more than tripled since June 1. Positive cases also have more than tripled, and the seven-day average testing positivity rate has more than doubled from less than 10 percent to about 20%.

Across the state, the struggle continues to contain the virus. Texas reported 105 deaths on Thursday, a new single-day high and this week alone broke records in single-day high of new cases, deaths and hospitalizations.
