For second consecutive day, Dallas County reports more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases

Dallas County authorities reported 1,103 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Saturday..

It was the second consecutive day on which the county reported at least 1,000 virus cases. Dallas County has reported at least 300 cases every day since June 10.

The total Dallas County coronavirus case count is 24,778 and includes 395 deaths, according to the Dallas County Health and Human Services office.

Public health authorities also reported two new COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, a man in his 70s who lived in Balch Springs and a woman in her 80s who lived in a Dallas long-term care facility.

Tarrant County authorities have said they will next release case and death information on Sunday because of the Fourth of July holiday.
