Free walk-up COVID-19 testing will be available next week in Fort Worth
Help is on its way for those seeking COVID-19 testing as demand surges in Tarrant County and across Texas amid all-time highs in new cases.
A free walk-up testing site will be available next week in Fort Worth.
As of Friday, Tarrant County officials had confirmed more than 12,900 cases and more than 230 deaths.
In observance of the July 4 holiday, Tarrant County officials said they would not update COVID-19 figures until Sunday.
The three-day testing site hosted by the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and City of Fort Worth Office of Emergency Management is Monday through Wednesday at Maude I. Logan Elementary, 2300 Dillard St., in Fort Worth.
No appointments will be necessary, but those tested must have access to a telephone because results will be communicated via call or text.
The testing will be each day from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
