Fort Worth mayor receives negative novel coronavirus test, will continue to isolate

Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price said Friday that she had tested negative for the novel coronavirus but would continue to isolate.

Price said she was taking that measure out of an abundance of caution and at the recommendation of health experts. She was tested after she had contact with her trainer, who tested positive.

“It is critical we all take personal responsibility by wearing masks, practicing social distancing and maintaining proper hygiene,” Price wrote in a statement.

The mayor said she did not have symptoms of the virus.

The mayor was also tested in late April, when Price was in close contact with a city employee inside the Joint Emergency Operations Center who had tested positive for coronavirus.
