345 more positive cases of novel coronavirus, 3 deaths, Dallas County authorities say

Dallas County authorities on Saturday said there were 345 additional positive cases of the novel coronavirus.

The total case count in Dallas County is 13,930 and includes 283 deaths, Dallas County Health and Human Services said.

“Today marks another record for the number of positive COVID-19 cases, but remember, we are doing more testing and that will weigh in to the increase in numbers,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins wrote in a statement. “Of greater concern is the number of hospitalizations. We are at the highest point of COVID-19 hospitalizations that we’ve ever seen in our state, region, and in Dallas County.”

The three new deaths reported on Saturday:

A man in his 50s who was a resident of Irving. He died at a hospital and had underlying high risk health conditions.

A man in his 60s who was a resident of a long-term care facility in Seagoville. He had been hospitalized and did not have underlying high risk health conditions.

A woman in her 90s who was a resident of a long-term care facility in Mesquite. She had been hospitalized and had underlying high risk health conditions.
