Wise County confirms first three coronavirus cases near Decatur, Rhome and Bridgeport

Wise County has confirmed three coronavirus cases.

The county released patients by zip code only for privacy concerns. The cities in those three zip codes are Rhome, Decatur and Bridgeport but the patients aren’t necessarily residents of those cities. All three patients are in home isolation.

“You should be taking precaution regardless of where you know confirmed cases are,” Wise County Emergency Management Coordinator Cody Powell said. “Assume you and everyone you meet is infected and take the appropriate precautions.”

Officials reported 90 people tested negative for COVID-19 and 66 results are still pending. Other tests have been conducted that have yet to be reported to the county judge.
