Johnson County confirms 4 new coronavirus cases; issues shelter-in-place order

Johnson County has confirmed four new coronavirus cases and made a shelter-in-place order effective at midnight Friday.

The county has confirmed a total of six COVID-19 patients. That doesn’t include a resident who died Thursday in a hospital out of state after contracting the virus on a recent cruise. The man, in his late 60s, had underlying health conditions.

Starting at midnight Friday, residents are being asked to stay in their homes except for essential household items/needs or to conduct essential business.

The four new patients are in the northern part of the county. Burleson and Briaroaks are in the north central edge of the county. The two previously announced cases are in Mansfield and Burleson. All six patients — three men and three women — are in their 30s, 40s and 50s.
