Fort Worth Animal Shelter expects to reach critical numbers as coronavirus slows adoptions

The Fort Worth Animal Shelter is looking for emergency foster parents for pets as the coronavirus outbreak slows adoptions.

The shelter said in a Facebook post that it expects the slowdown in adoptions to continue as the number of animals housed there reaches critical levels.

Housing for large dogs and animals undergoing medical care is especially needed, according to the post.

The shelter and its partners with Petsmart are currently open during regular hours.

“If you have some free time during the next few weeks, it would be the perfect time to add a four-legged friend to your home,” the post said.

Anybody interested in adopting or fostering a pet should fill out an emergency foster pledge and wait for the shelter to reach out.
