A $150 million development featuring apartments, townhomes and shops is planned near downtown Mansfield.

Dallas-based developer Wildcat Management announced Thursday that plans are in the works for Castle Ranch at 700 W. Broad St., near Interstate 20 and U.S. 287. Work is scheduled to start next year.

A spokesperson for the city said the developer has not submitted plans for Castle Ranch.

Wildcat Management described Castle Ranch as “an entirely new district built from the ground up.” The development will include parks, walkable streets and pedestrian path. The development will connect to the city’s trail system and will be near an existing dog park and city park.

Tanya Ragan, who owns Wildcat Management said: “I am excited about the opportunity to apply Wildcat’s years of community building and urban renewal in downtown Dallas toward Mansfield’s visionary efforts.”
