This Fort Worth telehealth service for college campuses is fastest-growing company in DFW
Fort Worth-based TimelyMD has been named the fastest-growing private company in Dallas-Fort Worth and the seventh-fastest-growing company in the Southwest by Inc.
The higher education telehealth service, founded in 2017, reported growth of 1,474% over the last two years.
TimelyMD provides medical and mental health telehealth services to 200 colleges and universities throughout the country, including 11 in Texas. Demand for the service spiked when the pandemic hit in 2020.
“We experienced some rapid adoption of telehealth at that time,” said CEO Luke Hejl. “Schools and students found pretty high value in virtual extension of campus resources.”
Last February, the company announced it received a $60 million investment from JMI Equity that would be used to support its growth.
TimelyMD is headquartered in Fort Worth’s growing Medical District. It employs 133 full-time employees, including 77 who live in DFW.
“I think as we continue to see more happen within DFW, we’d like to be part of the growth that’s being experienced,” Hejl said. “We continue to see a lot of really great things happening in Fort Worth from a healthcare perspective. We’re seeing that with the TCU medical school and growth in hospital systems.”
Late last month, TCU Medical School announced it is building a new campus on the city’s South Side.
