The market for downtown Fort Worth high-rises heats up. These 3 developments are on deck
Since the 27-story apartment complex 969 Deco at 969 Commerce St. has started to take shape downtown, there’s no shortage of plans for high-rise rentals in Fort Worth.
“Since it has been under construction, we’re starting to see the market begin to open up,” said Sevanne Steiner, a city senior planner.
This week alone, city boards and commissions moved forward with three high-rise buildings for downtown Fort Worth.
The Downtown Design Review Board on Wednesday approved plans for a 16-story mixed-use building proposed for the northwest corner of Seventh and Henderson streets and a 12-story residential building proposed for 1000 W. Weatherford St.
A similar project was in the works for the Weatherford Street location in 2019, but it never got off the ground.
The Zoning Commission also approved a plan for a 10-story mixed-use apartment development proposed south of the city’s Holly Water Treatment Plant at 1500 11th Ave.
Next, the site plan for this development must be reviewed by the Downtown Design Review Board.
