Planet Fitness is coming to Euless in all its purple-hued glory
As Planet Fitness expands its purple-hued exercise empire into DFW, its next location is sent to open in Euless this summer.
A new Planet Fitness gym is slated for 1200 N. Main St., across the street from the Albertsons grocery store. The Euless City Council approved the plans on April 9. It is scheduled to open in June.
Planet Fitness is a fast-growing gym brand that was founded in 1992 in New Hampshire. About ten years later, the brand started franchising, and now there are 1,742 locations throughout the country, with 10 of them in Tarrant County alone.
Planet Fitness is known as a “judgment-free” gym environment. Members cannot wear clothing that is too revealing, they can’t bring gallon jugs, and they are forbidden from grunting or dropping/slamming weights, lest they set off the “lunk alarm,” which goes off if anyone drops weights or makes too much noise.
The gym brand is also known for offering free food to its members. The first Monday of every month is Pizza Monday, where the company offers its members free pizza. The second Tuesday of every month is Bagel Tuesday, where gym goers get free bagels. And Tootsie Rolls are readily available at the front desk.
A membership at Planet Fitness is also inexpensive in comparison to its competitors. Its most basic membership plan includes a $0.25 start fee and charges $10 a month.
