Fort Worth is getting a new place for people, and fish, to get a bite

If you’re looking for a place to grab a beer, a bite, and do a little fishing, this new spot on the banks of the Trinity River might be for you.

Levee Porch, a new restaurant from the team behind Chimy’s, will abut the Fort Worth location of Dallas-based retailer Tailwaters Fly Fishing Co., according to a press release from the team behind the 37-acre mixed use development Westside Village.

The $1.7 billion development on the northeast corner of North University Drive and Westside Drive broke ground on its first phase in March, and will include 880,000 square feet of office space, 238,000 square feet of shops, 1,785 residential units and a luxury hotel when completed, according to a June 2025 city of Fort Worth presentation.

The restaurant’s menu will feature sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers along with a beer garden shaded by a 500-square foot porch and the canopy of nearby Live Oak Trees, the press release said.

“The Levee Porch will be a laid back, fast casual hideaway that will be a ton of fun for the family and a perfec tplace for a biker or kayaker to come down the trail and find an oasis on the West Fork of the Trinity,” restaurant owner Kyle Wright said in the press release.

Tailwaters Fly Fishing Co.’s location will offer 1,500 square feet of retail where restaurant goers can wander into for shopping or to plan their next fly-fishing trip, according to the press release.

The restaurant and retailer will be located at 2828 Shamrock Ave one block east of North University Drive, a spokesperson for the project said in an email to the Star-Telegram.

The restaurant will be accessible by car, by bike or foot through the Trinity Trail or by water through a dedicated kayak launch extending into the Trinity River, the press release said.

Both the restaurant and retailer are expected to open in early 2027, the press release said.
