Lockheed Martin awarded $879 million for Fort Worth-made F-35s

The Department of War awarded Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth over $879 million to support the F-35 aircraft delivery schedules.

The deal is part of over $1 billion in contracts awarded to Lockheed Martin nationwide.

The F-35 fuels local economies by creating high paying jobs and investing money back into the U.S. economy. These jobs are crucial to maintaining America’s edge for our national defense,” a Lockheed Martin spokesperson said in a statement.

Lockheed Martin designs and manufactures the F-35 fighter jets in Fort Worth, The jets are used in combat, and have flown over Iranian airspace during the war.

The Fort Worth division of Lockheed Martin was also given a $17 million modification to an existing contract for provisioning spares.
