Texas Health Resources CEO to retire this year, health system announces

The CEO of Texas Health Resources will retire later this year, the hospital system announced Monday.

Barclay Berdan, who served as CEO for 12 years, will retire in September.

Texas Health Resources’ service area spans 16 counties in North Texas and 29 hospital locations, according to THR. The health system has more than 4,400 licensed hospital beds, 6,400 physicians, and nearly 30,000 employees. The health system reported $1.64 billion in revenue in 2024, according to its tax filings.

The Texas Health Resources Board of Trustees announced that Winjie Miao, who serves as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, will be promoted to president effective April 5. Miao will report to Barclay until September, when she takes over as CEO, the health system said.
