TCU neighborhood to soon get a remodeled grocery store to shop in. Here’s the $650,000 plan

The Kroger grocery store near TCU will undergo a $650,000 remodel.

A spokesman said the project will add new decor and updated efficiencies inside the 50,000-square-foot store at 3120 S. University Drive near West Berry Street.

Work on the store is expected to begin in late summer or early fall, and the store will remain open throughout the process. Kroger typically picked about a dozen stores a year to renovate.

Kroger has six locations in and around Fort Worth but is adding more. The company announced plans to build a Kroger Marketplace in Sendera Ranch in December. Another Marketplace store at the corner of 113 E. Bonds Ranch Road, along U.S. 287, is expected to open this year.

One of the largest grocery chains in the country, Kroger’s sales were roughly $150 billion in 2023. The company has about 2,750 stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia.
