Abercrombie & Fitch is returning to Fort Worth with a new store in this shopping center
Fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch has plans to open its first store in Fort Worth in years.
A 5,200-square-foot store is going in the University Park Village outdoor shopping center along South University Drive, according to a city building permit application.
Construction on the storefront near the site of a former GAP and the Nike store that opened in late 2022 is expected to begin in March and wrap up in June. It’s unclear when the store could open. The project is expected to cost about $339,000.
An A&F store opened in Hulen Mall in 1995, at a time when the retailer’s only other Texas location was in Dallas. Later, an Abercrombie opened in North East Mall in Hurst.
A cornerstone of 2000s teen fashion, Abercrombie has had a resurgence in recent years after overhauling its products and image. In 2021, the company appointed a new CEO and aggressively rebranded to cater to shoppers in their 20s and 30s.
Today, Abercrombie has over 240 locations across the globe.
Founded in 1892, Abercrombie’s sales hit a record $1.2 billion in the third quarter of 2024. The company’s stock price has increased by more than 640% since the start of 2021, now trading at about $150 per share. Abercrombie also owns Hollister, a fashion brand aimed at teens.
