IKEA to build a third showroom store in the Metroplex, opening in 2025

IKEA is building a third store in the Metroplex.

The global low-cost home furnishings and decor retailer says the new store is slated to open in December 2025 in Rockwall, east of Garland.

The store will be part of a 65-acre mixed-use development at the northwest corner of Stodghill Road and Interstate 30 Frontage Road, the Rockwall Herald Banner reported. The project will include other retail stores, restaurants and as many as 485 condominium and town homes.

IKEA Rockwall’s design will include sustainability features such as solar power, EV chargers and native plant materials to reduce water consumption.

The store will have a “new Swedish Deli concept” with onsite meals and a Swedish Bistro for takeaway items.

IKEA now has showroom locations in Grand Prairie and Frisco, along with locations near Austin, San Antonio and Houston. About 375 IKEA stores operate in 30 countries, including 51 in the U.S.

Rockwall is also the site of a future H-E-B that is expected to open in 2025 at the southwest corner of John King Boulevard and I-30.
