This new Hilton brand hotel aims to start construction in Fort Worth near DFW airport

Hilton has plans to build one of its Tempo brand hotels near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Plans for construction of a Tempo by Hilton at 4600 Texas 360 were filed with the state on Oct. 2.

Amenities for the 130-room hotel will include a bar, meeting space and a fitness center. The $9.8 million project is expected to break ground in March and be completed in early 2026.

Hilton did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the project.

This summer, Hilton filed plans with the city of Fort Worth for a proposed Tempo in the Near Southside neighborhood, a six-story, 155-room hotel at 1200 Hemphill St. The construction timetable for that property remains unclear.

Hilton has only opened three Tempo hotels so far — in New York City’s Times Square, in downtown Nashville and in Louisville, Kentucky. A Raleigh Tempo is expected to open in November. Hilton has said 30 additional Tempo locations are in the pipeline for the burgeoning brand.

Unlike a traditional Hilton hotel, Tempo locations are focused on promoting wellness and fitness. Tempo hotels are designed to reflect guests’ lifestyles, whether they’re looking to relax, enjoy health-conscious food or be active during their stay.

Hilton has another hotel opening soon on the South Main corridor. The Nobleman Tapestry Hotel at 503 Bryan Ave. has incorporated a historic 1911 fire station into its design and is expected to open in January with 153 rooms, of which 32 will be extended-stay with kitchens.

South Main and Near Southside have seen a wave of new apartment complexes, restaurants and other commercial development in recent years. Overall, the greater Near Southside neighborhood has seen at least 3,055 housing units come online over the past 10 years, with at least 775 units in active construction in early 2024, according to Near Southside Inc.
