Retail coming to Grand Prairie movie theater site
Say goodbye to cinema and hello to retail.
Southlake’s United Development Company is redeveloping the former UA Theater Grand Prairie 10 into a retail center. The 60,000 square foot center, which is located on the southeast corner of Westchester Parkway and Carrier Parkway, will include a Starbucks, R Taco, Panera and other retailers. United Development Company bought the site in March 2015. The first tenant is expected to be open this fall.
The Dallas Morning News reported that the theater closed in December.
"We bought a portfolio of 11 theaters in March of 2015," Biff McGuire, United Development CEO, told the Morning News. "We originally planned to put a supermarket in that building and we hope to sign up a grocer."
