Grapevine Mills has landed another entertainment venue, as Fieldhouse USA announced plans for an indoor sports facility at the mall.
The 106,000-square-foot facility will include nine basketball and nine volleyball courts, offering year-round league play in team sports such as basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer. The company said the venue will also host performance training, all-sports camps, baseball/softball, birthday parties, boot camps, cheerleading, club volleyball, corporate events, dodgeball, lock-ins, skills training, taekwondo, and tumble.
The Grapevine Mills location, to go into a former JC Penney outlet store, will be the second site for the Frisco company. It also plans a facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa, according to its website.
The Grapevine Fieldhouse USA will open early next year. The City of Grapevine’s Parks and Recreation Department will partner with FieldhouseUSA to use the facility for city basketball and volleyball leagues.
Grapevine Mills, designed to include entertainment options as part of the shopping experience, already has a Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland Discovery Center and a 30-screen AMC theater. The mall, owned by Simon Property Group, recently completed a miltimillion renovations that added new flooring and lighting.
