Retail gas prices tumble 10 cents across Texas
Retail gasoline prices across Texas continue to plummet, with the average cost at the pump dropping this week by a dime to settle at $2.05.
Of the metro regions in Texas, Fort Worth/Arlington motorist are paying the least at $1.91 per gallon while drivers in Corpus Christi are paying the most at $2.18 per gallon.
AAA Texas on Tuesday reported the statewide figure compares to the nationwide average of $2.27 per gallon.
AAA Texas predicts 8.1 million Texans will travel 50 miles or more away from home during the holidays. That's about 4 percent higher than last year.
AAA says the global oil market continues to have an oversupply of oil because of record production in the United States. Global demand, meanwhile, continues to be lower than expected.
