The Weitzman Group and Cencor Realty Services, a Dallas-based commercial services firm, said Wednesday that it has selected only its second chief executive since the company was founded 25 years ago.
Marshall Mills, who was the chief operating officer, was promoted to CEO and president, succeeding Herb Weitzman, the company’s founder. Weitzman will remain active with the company but now serves as its executive chairman. The Weitzman Group specializes in retail-focused commercial real estate.
“Like he has always been, Herb will be here in Dallas and traveling throughout the state and country to promote our services and to work with existing and new clients,” Mills said in a statement. “In his role as executive chairman, he will continue to be instrumental in our company’s growth and success.”
Weitzman and Cencor have operations in Fort Worth as well as Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

Weitzman offers commercial brokerage services and leases 44 million square feet of retail and commercial space in Texas. Cencor offers statewide property management, asset management and development operations, and manages a retail property portfolio of more than 22 million square feet.
Mills has been with Weitzman since 1992 and once served as its chief financial officer.
“To be entrusted with the leadership of this amazing company, with its incredible people throughout the state, is a true vote of confidence and one I fully intend to live up to,” Mills said.
