Taiwan-based manufacturing company opens AI factory in Fort Worth
Tawian-based Foxlink group opened its first AI factory in North America on Tuesday in Hillwood’s AllianceTexas in far north Fort Worth.
Though Foxlink has sales offices in California and Washington, the other factory locations are throughout Southeast Asia.
Foxlink designs and builds tech products for companies such as Apple and NVIDIA.
Foxlink CEO Freddy Kou said the company chose DFW because of the talent pool and logistical benefits. Alliance sits along Interstate 35W, its cargo airport is one of the nation’s busiest and the BNSF Alliance Intermodal Facility links North Texas with ports on the West Coast and Gulf
The 147,780-square-foot Foxlink factory is expected to create more than 900 jobs. Foxlink will integrate AI-driven robotics and intelligent automation on the production floor.
“We want to use this site to be a gold standard for our global manufacturing,” Kou said, adding that the company hopes to begin partnerships with local schools to recruit workers.
From the moment Foxlink decided to expand to the U.S., about one year passed until completion of the factory, which was converted from a call center.
“They really are the poster child for global connectivity and supply chain resilience,” said Jack Barkley, vice president of Hillwood.
