Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce selects first woman as president
Businesswoman Michelle Green-Ford, who recently served as vice president and chief diversity officer for JPS Health Network, has been chosen as the first female leader of the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, according to a news release.
Green-Ford will take the president and CEO position previously held by Dee Jennings, who died in July.
Green-Ford owned a training and consulting company for 18 years and has served on the boards of other chambers of commerce promoting minority business people. She has worked with DFW Airport, American Airlines, the City of Fort Worth and Sheppard Air Force Base, according to the release.
She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration, according to the release.
Green-Ford said she is excited to start her work of helping local business owners.
“My overall focus is to partner with others to create a community where everyone can thrive,” she said in the release.
In announcing Green-Ford’s appointment, Board Chair Reginald Gates said, “She has executive leadership and business ownership experience that prepares her to produce superior results for the Black Chamber.”
He added, “Her selection is historic in that she is the first female president in the Chamber’s more than 40-year history.”
