Kentucky-based health company will close hospitals in Fort Worth and Dallas
Kindred Healthcare is closing hospitals in Texas, including one in Fort Worth.
The Louisville, Kentucky-based hospital system will close the Kindred Hospital at 815 Eighth Ave. in Fort Worth. In Dallas, the location on Greenville Avenue will shut its doors. In Houston, Kindred will close four of its hospitals.
The Tarrant County - Fort Worth Southwest location at 7800 Oakmont Blvd., the Mansfield location at 1802 Highway 157 N., the Arlington location at 1000 N. Cooper St. and the Dallas Central location at 8050 Meadow Drive will remain open.
According to the announcement on the Fort Worth hospital’s website, this is part of a strategic consolidation. The hospitals have stopped accepting new admissions during the transition, and 381 employees will lose their jobs beginning March 15, according to the Dallas Morning News.
