There won't be quite as many "Toys R Us kids" begging their parents for a weekend trip to the local toy store after this news.

Toys R Us and Babies R Us store closures in Fort Worth and Hurst are part of the company's broad restructuring effort that will see the brand shut down operations of 182 stores in the coming months.

The company filed court documents detailing the plans to close the locations as part of its bankruptcy reorganization. Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in September.

The Fort Worth City View Babies R Us location, 5800 Overton Ridge Blvd., and the Hurst location, 1309 W. Pipeline Road, will close, along with four more in North Texas locations: in Allen, Irving, Lewisville and in the Dallas Galleria.

Two more Toys R Us locations in Texas are on the list of closures, one in Katy and another in El Paso. Remaining Tarrant County Toys R Us locations will still operate in Southlake, White Settlement and near The Parks in Arlington.

Going-out-of-business sales at the affected locations are scheduled to begin in February and should be completed sometime in April.

"The reinvention of our brands requires that we make tough decisions about our priorities and focus," Toys R Us CEO Dave Brandon said in a message posted on the company's website Tuesday night.

The 182 stores closing account for nearly 20 percent of all Toys R Us locations nationwide.

In addition to closing stores, the company intends to convert a number of locations into combined Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores.
