Popular collegiate apparel store expands to Fort Worth
Tyler’s, popular for its Tyler’s tees and a retailer of brand name athletic and collegiate apparel and accessories, is opening its first Fort Worth store at WestBend on University Drive.
The 17,274-square-foot store, to be located on the ground level of the center’s parking garage, will open in early 2016, said Trademark Property Co., WestBend’s developer. It will be Tyler’s seventh store in Texas.
“We've been searching a long time for the perfect Fort Worth location that will help us best serve the community and we finally found it,” said Dale Grimes, president and owner of Tyler’s.
Tyler’s WestBend location will feature merchandise for men, women and youth from brands like Nike, Under Armour, Roxy, Billabong, Converse, Oakley, Ray-Ban and TOMS, the developer said.
Tyler’s, founded in Tyler, Texas, in 1978 specializing in tennis and running merchandise, has three locations in Austin, including on Guadalupe Street across from the University of Texas campus, and one each in Southlake, Dallas and the Woodlands, according to its website.
“As we near the completion of the redevelopment, it’s exciting to see the high level of current leasing activity confirm our vision for a fresh, walkable, urban mixed-use environment on the Trinity Trail in the best long term retail location in Fort Worth,” said Terry Montesi, Trademark’s CEO, in a statement.
Zoë’s Kitchen, East Hampton Sandwich Co., and Silver Fox are already in WestBend. The Fresh Market grocery store is slated to open this summer, and Grimaldi's Coal-Brick Oven Pizzeria this fall.
WestBend is located on University Drive, just south of Interstate 30 and across from University Park Village. When completed this fall, the center will have 278,000 square feet of shopping, restaurant and office space.
