Work Faces: Boggins joins Star-Telegram as VP of Advertising

Stephanie Boggins joins the Star-Telegram as vice president of advertising effective Monday, replacing Craig Diebel, who retired. Boggins, a Texas Tech graduate, has held several leadership positions in print and digital advertising, most recently as vice president of advertising at The Commercial Appeal in Memphis.

The Texas Rangers announced the appointment of Katherine Pothier as executive vice president and general counsel, responsible for the baseball franchise’s legal, human resources, and risk management areas. Pothier has nearly 25 years of legal experience, most recently as a partner with Wilson Turner Kosmo L.L.P. in San Diego. She served as executive vice president and general counsel for the San Diego Padres from 2002-10.

UMB Bank has hired Bryson Bowden as vice president, commercial relationship manager in Fort Worth, responsible for business development and commercial banking activity in the North Texas market. Bowden has more than 13 years of experience in banking and financial services, most recently as vice president, commercial banking at BB&T Bank.

Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth has added interventional cardiologist Bruce Bowers to the structural heart program. Bowers is the medical director of invasive/noninvasive cardiology and co-medical director of The Dallas Valve Institute at Plaza’s sister HCA North Texas hospital, Medical City Dallas. He is also the national director of interventional cardiology for HCA Healthcare and oversees the interventional cardiology programs at 130 hospitals.


The Workforce Development Board of Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County has re-elected Keith Muskrat as chair, Estrus Tucker as vice chair and Jon Gustafson as second vice chair. Muskrat is vice president/operations for Talon Industries, an Arlington-based pipeline construction firm; Tucker is an independent consultant and speaker; Gustafson is director of Workforce Partnerships and Incentives for Lockheed Martin.


Jackie Gonzalez has been promoted to partner at Weaver, the largest independent accounting firm in the Southwest. Gonzalez, who works in assurance service in the Fort Worth office, joined Weaver in 2004 and has 12 years of experience performing and leading complex financial statement and compliance audits for governmental, nonprofit, retail and wholesale distributor industries. John DeBurro and John Wauson were named partners in Weaver’s Dallas office.


Carl Lee, general manager of the Red Lobster restaurant in Irving, was one of 32 general managers in the chain to be honored with the Lighthouse Club Award, presented annually to its top GMs. Lee has been with Red Lobster for 21 years.
