Fort Worth-area daycare staff, tots heard roof crack just before collapse and got out
About 20 staff members and preschool-age children heard cracking just before about half of the roof of their Trophy Club daycare building folded in on Friday, authorities said.
The roof of Xplor Daycare on Village Trail near Chisos Court collapsed about 2:30 p.m., Trophy Club Fire Department Chief Jack Taylor said.
The adults and children moved to the stable side of the building and evacuated just before the collapse. No one was injured.
“We were very fortunate today to have a happy outcome,” Taylor said.
The cause of the collapse was unknown Friday night, he said.
