Jewel thieves hit Frisco store in brazen robbery

FRISCO -- Four men armed with mallets smashed several display cases Tuesday morning and took an undisclosed amount of jewelry from a store in Stonebriar Centre, police said.

No injuries were reported in the brazen holdup at Ben Bridge Jewelers.

The holdup happened just after 10:30 a.m. inside the mall at 2601 Preston Road.

Witnesses told police that four men entered the store and smashed the display cases with what appeared to be mallets.

No weapons were displayed during the holdup, police said.

After grabbing an unknown amount of jewelry, the bandits fled the store, police said.

Police had vague descriptions of the four men.
