Cop plays 93-year-old man's favorite piano piece after his home was robbed
An English cop's duties expanded far outside his police training, when he went to check up on a 93-year-old man who's home had been broken into in January.
In a Facebook post on the Mansfield Police Department's page, an officer describes how his visit turned into a musical performance after noticing the man's piano.
The officer writes that he told the man that he could play, and saw the music sheets open to a Chopin piece. The man shared that the piece is one of his favorites, and invited the cop to play for him.
But the piano performance wasn't the only thing the two men shared that day. The cop said the man shared stories about "getting his wings," his experiences as a pilot and "the war." He also told the officer that he felt "wanted and reassured" by the surprise visit, and explained that his wife had died on Christmas Eve a few years prior.
The officer ends his post by expressing gratitude for the opportunity to help this man in his community, "job satisfaction."
