Want to save the world? Check out the FBI's bomb squad school
Not a lot of people react to a bomb threat by gearing up and rushing towards the thing that could easily kill them.
Thankfully, there are thousands of local, state and federal officials willing to risk their lives for the safety of others. Of course, they must undergo extensive training first.
The place to efficiently and accurately learn how to do so is at the FBI's Hazardous Devices School at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, where over 20,000 first responders and bomb technicians have trained. Established in 1971, it was jointly run by the FBI and U.S. Army until September 2017, when the FBI fully took over.
Take a tour of the only facility in the nation that trains public safety bomb technicians from across the country.
