Texas cops risk their lives to save disabled man from house fire
A disabled man in a wheelchair and three others are alive, thanks to two Eastland police officers who ran into a burning home to save them.
According to a Facebook post from the Eastland Police Department, Officers Kolton Preston and Kevin Willis were the first to respond to the emergency fire and realized there were still people in the house.
After the officers ran inside, the fire engulfed the living room and front bedroom in flames as they discovered the house did not have a back door. While one person was able to run out of the home, Preston wheeled a disabled man in a wheelchair through the fire to get out the front door. The officer sustained burns and smoke inhalation, and was later taken to the hospital.
Then Willis led the other two residents through the fire as well. The residents all sustained minor burns.
Preston has been released from the hospital, the post said.
