Grandmother, two grandsons killed in head-on wreck near Glen Rose
A 59-year-old woman and her two grandsons, ages 8 and 7, were killed and her husband and two granddaughters injured in a two-car collision on U.S. 67 near Cleburne on Tuesday night, officials said.
Freda Williams, of Glen Rose, was driving west on 67 toward Glen Rose when her Toyota Camry collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck that had crossed the center line, said Sgt. Dub Gillum, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman.
Williams' husband, James Williams, 58, was riding in the passenger seat and her two grandsons and two granddaughters were riding in the back seat.
Williams and her 7-year-old grandson died at the scene, Gillum said. Her 8-year-old grandson was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, where he was pronounced dead Wednesday morning. The names of the grandsons have not yet been released.
Williams' husband and her two granddaughters suffered injuries and their conditions were unknown.
Jake Bomar, 22, of Cleburne, the driver of the Ford pickup truck, was taken to Glen Rose Medical Center and treated for minor injuries, Gillum said.
The DPS was still investigating the crash Wednesday.
