Sharna Burgess Details Past Romance With 'Great Guy' Sasha Farber

Sharna Burgessis looking back at her past relationship with fellow Dancing With the Stars alum Sasha Farber.

"Sasha Farber and I used to date," Burgess, 40, revealed on the Monday, May 11, episode of the "Penthouse With Peta" podcast. "He was such a sweet boyfriend. He's such a great guy. I talk about how I've dated so many a**holes, he was not one of them. He was always a great guy, and he came into my life at a time when I just really needed to remember how to laugh again."

Burgess and Farber, 42, met when they were both touring performers on Burn the Floor.

"We got together when we were in Reno," she recalled on Monday's episode. "[The whole cast] were drinking, like, liters and liters of vodka a night. … It's a blur, and what I do remember, we shan't talk about. But, Sasha's room [and mine] were next door to each other. One night, my bold little self knocked on his door and was like, ‘Hi.'"

Burgess further noted that she and Farber had been "flirting around" the idea of dating before their hotel antics.

"Then, we got together," she quipped. "I think we were together for three years [or] five years, I don't remember. However long I was on Burn the Floor, we were together."

After several years of dating and dancing together on the road, Burgess left the tour upon learning her father was in kidney failure.

"I left Burn the Floor after like five, six years of being on it. And when I was home, it was just too hard," the choreographer recalled of returning to her native Australia. "Like, I never knew when I was going to be back on tour again. Sash was with the tour, and it was like, ‘When are our wires [and] our lives paths ever going to cross again?' And so, we broke up over that video call [program] Skype."

While Burgess found her breakup with Farber to be "hard," she acknowledged that it led him to now-ex Emma Slater.

"They were meant to have their journey with each other too," Burgess said of Slater, 37, and Farber, who were married from 2018 to 2023. "It was tough, it really sucked and especially doing it over Skype."

Six months after Burgess and Farber called it quits, they were both cast in the DWTS troupe.

Burgess has since found love with actor Brian Austin Green, who proposed in 2023, one year after welcoming son Zane. Farber, for his part, confirmed last month that he recently sparked a romance with Hallmark actress Janel Parrish.

"Am I going to be invited to the wedding even though I'm the ex-girlfriend?" Burgess asked Farber during a phone call from Monday's podcast.

While Farber played coy about plans to walk down the aisle again, he did invite Burgess and Green, 52, to "go out to dinner" on a double date.
