Amy Carter Reads One of Dad Jimmy Carter’s Love Letters Ahead of Funeral

During an emotional speech from Rosalynnand Jimmy Carter's daughter, Amy Carter, she read a 75-year-old love letter her dad wrote to her mom.

On Thursday, January 9, the former President of the United States was laid to rest. He was 100 at the time of his death.

In a video shared by the current First Lady of the United States Jill Biden, Amy said, "My mom spent most of her life in love with my dad," as it showed paintings of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter being hung next to one another in black and white.

"This is from a letter he wrote 75 years ago," she said through tears.

"My darling, every time I have ever been away from you, I have been thrilled when I returned to discover just how wonderful you are. While I'm away I try to convince myself that you really are not, could not be, as sweet and beautiful as I remember."

"We miss them both dearly, but take comfort knowing they are reunited once again. To the entire Carter family, thank you for sharing them with America and the world."

Those in the comment section agreed with Biden.
