Where to find a restaurant table for Valentine’s dinner in Fort Worth

This is your first warning.

Valentine’s Day is three weeks away, and this is one holiday you want to get right.

Valentine’s booked up early this year. It’s already too late to book The Chumley House. Or Reata. Or Teddy Wongs. Or most of the prime steakhouses.

Here are a few restaurants with Valentine’s tables available, according to the reservation websites OpenTable.com, Resy.com, Tock.com and Yelp.com.

⬤ La Bistro Italian Grill, 722 Grapevine Highway, Hurst, has been a true old-guard steakhouse and Italian restaurant for 42 years, and it won new customers last year by donating a week’s sales to Kerrville flood relief.

It’s popular for the lobster bisque, lamb chops and pastas; 817-281-9333, labistro.top.

⬤ Michaels Cuisine, 3413 W. Seventh St., was spotlighted here last week as a Southwestern steak hangout for the rodeo.

It’s like if Reata had a beta version; 817-877-3413, michaelscuisine.com.

⬤ Ko Thai, 725 W. Magnolia Ave., is an elegant Thai restaurant and bar with exceptional food.

If Teddy Wongs is booked — it almost always is — Ko Thai is an excellent nearby alternate; 469-978-0744, kothai.co.

⬤ Rise Soufflé, 5135 Monahans Ave., Fort Worth, or 2001 W. Southlake Blvd. near Keller, is a stunning date-night restaurant that often gets overlooked because the Fort Worth location uses Yelp.com for reservations.

Rise has expanded the non-soufflé options and now offers steak and roasted potatoes along with 10 savory soufflés and six sweet soufflés. Everybody should have at least one chocolate soufflé; 817-737-7473 or 817-484-4208, risesouffle.com.
