Is it Burger Week or Restaurant Week? In Fort Worth, get deals for both
In Fort Worth, it’s Burger Week.
In Arlington, it’s Save the Tacos month.
And across North Texas, it’s still DFW Restaurant Week and the Hatch Green Chile Festival.
Enjoy summer deals while you can. Pumpkin Spice season lurks around the corner.
A look at current special weeks, months and deals:
Fort Worth Burger Week
The promotion benefit through Aug. 24 features $7 burgers at more than 30 restaurants, with a token donation to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Two of Fort Worth’s all-time favorite burgers, Fred’s Texas Cafe’s green chile cheeseburger and Tommy’s Hamburgers’ Thai kimchi cheeseburger, are on the list. Each has two locations.
Newer favorites include Big Kat Burgers at Crystal Springs Hideaway, Duchess at the Nobleman, Rex’s and Walloon’s.
More great burger deals include the Bearded Lady tavern’s Spicy smashburger, a five-alarm festival with ghost-pepper jack cheese, fried peppers, grilled jalapeños, lettuce, onion and habanero mayo.

#SaveTheTacos
Arlington’s tourist bureau has launched its taco taste-off to pick the city’s favorite taco.
Through Sept. 30, 24 restaurants will serve their best tacos, including some unusual entrants like Cake-aholics Bakery’s taco sundae, Hurtado Barbecue’s duck carnitas taco and Marquez Bakery’s tamale taco with corn pico.
See the list and plan a taco tour at arlington.org.
DFW Restaurant Week
The “week” of promotional specials really lasts a month through Aug. 31, so there’s time to eat a $49 or $59 full 3-course dinner or a $29 lunch at one of 33 restaurants benefiting a family-service charity.
Lena Pope gets $1 of every $5 spent on the specials, so it’s a good deal for diners and families.
Early picks: Quince Riverside, Rise Souffle or Wicked Butcher in Fort Worth; Soy Cowboy Asian in Arlington; Ferrari’s in Grapevine, or almost any of the prime steakhouses.
Find the list at dfwrestaurantweek.com.
Hatch Green Chile Festival
The fresh chile harvest is in from southern New Mexico, and it gets spicier toward late August.
That means it’s time to order fresh green chiles in restaurants like Pappasito’s Cantina, offering specials through Sept. 1.
Pappasito’s is serving Hatch chcken tacos, Hatch pork empanadas, Hatch shrimp brochettes or fajitas and Hatch pulled pork enchiladas.
The Blue Goose Cantina restaurants are serving Hatch shrimp tacos, Hatch chimichurri steaks, Hatch enchiladas and burritos and Hatch huevos rancheros at brunch.
Blue Mesa Grill is where the Hatch chile party began, and it continues with Hatch items on the Sunday brunch buffet in August and daily specials such as Hatch chiles rellenos.
