Wait. What’s that? It’s at a new favorite Fort Worth breakfast restaurant
One of Texas’ best family-owned breakfast and lunch restaurants has arrived in west Fort Worth.
Eggsquisite Cafe, the newest location for North Texas restaurants ranked among Yelp.com’s “Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas,” is off to a fast start at 9316 Clifford St., off Loop 820 West.
The pancakes, waffles and beignets are impressive, in flavors such as berry, S’mores, banana split and cinnamon roll.
The menu also includes a unique biscuits-and-gravy omelet, crab-cake eggs Benedict, skillets and lunch sandwiches such as a Reuben or French dip, along with the traditional chicken-fried steaks, chicken and Cajun spicy tenders.
A best pick for pancakes
On a visit Sunday, another diner stopped in his tracks when he walked past the table and saw the banana-split French toast.
“What is that?” he asked. “It looks amazing.”
But not as amazing as it would be on Eggsquisite Cafe’s pancakes, a strong competitor in a market loyal to old favorites such as Ginger Brown’s in Lake Worth, River Oaks Cafe in River Oaks or West Side Cafe in the Western Hills neighborhood.
The founding Asani family from North Macedonia has a 50-year history of popular small-town cafes under various names in Iowa, Illinois and since 2015, in the Dallas area.
Restaurants in Mansfield, Sherman
“Mef” and Brian Asani started in Carrollton. They have opened and sold several Eggsquisite restaurants and now own the locations in Fort Worth, Sherman and at 1530 E. Debbie Lane, Mansfield. They plan to open another Eggsquisite in Waxahachie.
All the former and current restaurants have at least a 4.5-star rating from Yelp.com users, which is probably what put them among the “Top 100 Places to Eat.”
Eggsquisite is open for breakfast and lunch daily; 682-224-2832, eggsquisitecafe.com.
