Restaurant on Texas 26 reopens. It was shut for no health permit, city official says

A popular Asian fusion restaurant in North Richland Hills reopened Feb. 25 after a six-day shutdown when inspectors found it had been operating without health or occupancy permits, a city spokesperson said.

Tandoor Wok, 9127 Boulevard 26, passed a new health inspection this week and reopened. It had failed inspection Jan. 14 with a score of 55 on a 0-100 scale, city spokesperson Mary Peters said.

The restaurant had already been warned to renew its annual occupancy permit, which expired Dec. 1.

Tandoor Wok was ordered closed Feb. 19, according to city records. When it reopened without permission, it was ordered closed again Feb. 21.

In the January inspection, points were deducted for reasons that included an inaccessible hand sink, no record of grease trap maintenance and staff members working without hair nets or eating in the kitchen, Peters said.

The next lowest score in North Richland Hills in January was a 70, according to the scores published on the city website at nrhtx.com.

Tandoor Wok was inspected three times in 2024, according to nrhtx.com. The scores were 52 in February, 60 in March and 56 in May.

The restaurant is rated 4.5 of 5 stars by Google.com users and 4.3 of 5 stars on Yelp.com for its mixture of Indian, Thai, Sichuan and Mongolian menu items.
