Michelin-recommended Dallas restaurants open new Fort Worth Cultural District location
The company behind two Michelin-recommended Dallas restaurants will open a Fort Worth location Nov. 25, the first in his hometown for co-founder Chas Martin.
The Chumley House, 3230 Camp Bowie Blvd., is described as Duro Hospitality’s homage to London and a European-inspired dinner steakhouse with Indian influences.
The same company owns Michelin-recommended Mister Charles, 3219 Knox St., Dallas, and El Carlos Elegante, 1400 N. Riverfront Blvd., along with four other restaurants and Casa Duro, one of Dallas’ four Michelin Key hotels.
The opening menu features five steaks plus beef Wellington, tandoor lamb, seafood and pastas, along with desserts such as sticky toffee pudding or Biscoff trifle.
The rich decor features a mahogany study with a fireplace and English hunting motifs, and dark wood floors with saddle-leather seating.
Like other good Camp Bowie Boulevard restaurants, it’s named for a dog, Chumley, a Bouvier beloved by Martin and Duro.
He joins other canines who inspired restaurants: Winslow of Winslow’s and Fred of Fred’s Texas Cafe.
The restaurant is in a prime location across Camp Bowie Boulevard from the Modern and Kimbell art museums and across Van Cliburn Way from the Crescent Fort Worth hotel.
It’s near the James Beard Award finalist Don Artemio Mexican Heritage restaurant, along with perennially top-ranked Paris 7th and the Crescent’s Blue Room.
The Chumley House is open nightly for dinner; 469-960-6541, thechumleyhouse.com.
