Fort Worth, Grapevine celebrity chefs to open new restaurants in downtown Dallas

Two celebrity chefs from Tarrant County are adding new restaurants in downtown Dallas.

TV chefs Graham Elliot and Carla Pellegrino, both relatively recent arrivals to the growing North Texas dining market, will open new locations while keeping their current Tarrant County restaurants:

Elliot, on the verge of opening a new location of Far Out Hospitality’s Pacific Table seafood restaurant in Southlake, is already planning the fourth Table in a new Dallas apartment tower, 405 N. Ervay St.

Pellegrino, known for her work in Las Vegas, will keep her Teatro restaurant in Grapevine and add a yet-unnamed Italian restaurant in Victory Park at 3030 Nowitski Way.

Both follow celebrity barbecue pitmaster Brandon Hurtado of Arlington, who just announced that the fourth Hurtado Barbecue will open at 900 S. Harwood St. in downtown Dallas.

Elliot, a former “Top Chef” judge, joined Fort Worth-based Far Out Hospitality two years ago, revamping the menus at all 11 company restaurants founded by owner Felipe Armenta.

He is best known here for his work at Le Margot in Fort Worth, ranked the No. 2 “Best New Restaurant in Texas” in 2024 by Texas Monthly magazine.

But Elliot also shaped Cowboy Prime, the company’s Midland steakhouse that is now planned to open a second location here at 9300 Team Ranch Road.

Pacific Table: New in Southlake, coming to Dallas

Pacific Table opened in 2013 as a West Coast-themed restaurant taking its name from the Union Pacific switchyard behind its location, 1600 S. University Drive.

But since then, the restaurant has added seafood and sushi to the menu, taking a “Pacific Northwest” theme for new locations at 5238 N. O’Connor Blvd. in Irving and by mid-Augustat 2221 E. Southlake Blvd. in Southlake.

In a Fort Worth market where it competes against Florida-based Eddie V’s and Dallas-based Hudson House, Pacific Table is best-known for fried oysters, grilled artichokes, crab cakes, miso salmon and a plant-based pecan burger.

The company’s other restaurants are F1 Smokehouse, Fort Worth; The Grill, San Angelo; il Capo, planned in Fort Worth; Maria’s Mexican Kitchen, Fort Worth; Press Cafe, Fort Worth and Aledo; the Tavern, Fort Worth; and Towne Grill, Fort Worth.

Armenta also has a hand in Cork & Pig Taverns in Southlake, Irving and five other locations, including one planned in Willow Park at 460 Shops Blvd.

Teatro: steaks, seafood, Italian and brunch

Pellegrino opened Teatro in May, serving steaks, halibut, pastas and arancini at 120 S. Main St., Grapevine.

For Pellegrino, it’s a big change from Vegas, where she once cooked at the former Rao’s in Caesars Palace. From Rio de Janeiro via Italy, Pellegrino competed in “Top Chef: Seattle” (season 10) along with Dallas celebrity John Tesar. She also was a winner on “Throwdown with Bobby Flay.”

Teatro is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday and brunch Sunday; 682-223-1194, teatrobistrotx.com.
